Neoprene, or chloroprene rubber, is a quintessential all‑purpose adhesive that was widely used in the curtain‑wall industry during its early years. Due to its material structure, it exhibits moderate oil resistance, weatherability, flame retardancy, and chemical stability; however, none of these properties reaches an optimal level, and its cost is relatively high.
At present, it is predominantly used in specialized sealing applications that demand resistance to humid heat, oil, and environmental degradation.
